i need to do the plenumn pan gasket on my 99 318 and i done this once before and its leaking oil again and last time i did it i took the distribtor out and i had to get the pcm re flashed at a dealer with the drb scan tool. so my question is if i do this plenumn pan gasket again and carefully mark the distributor and put it back exactly back in the propor spot will it be ok? im looking to save 125$ last time it wouldnt run at all. and i DID NOT mark it. i was unaware till after the fact. thanks guys.

mark the dist housing and rotor position before you pull the dist. out and don't turn the motor any and you should be fine.

There is NO NEED to remove the distributer to remove the intake manifold.

When I do them I usually just remove the front accessories and Ill pull the dist cap off cause I usually will replace it will its tor down, But I never remove the dist. I slide the manifold forward then remove it.
