Message: I have a dodge Dakota that wont let me put the fuel nozzle in and just pump gas.
It locks up all the time as if its 'full'. I have to hold the nozzle by hand at under half way- which means it takes forever to fillup.
is there some way to fix this issue? Turning the nozzle around doesnt work, only holding it at half pressure does.

Message: I have the same problem with my 02, Bobbi. Seems
most stations brag about how fast their pumps full
your tank. Wal-Mart is one for sure. Their pumps
pressure is so high I can't begin to use the auto
fill notch, even set on the first notch.
The only way I found around the problem, I wedge
the gas caps threaded end between the handle of
the pump nozzle. That makes it run low BUT only
if I use the older filling stations that use the
lower pressure pump system.
Even then, after it does "click" off I can get
another 4 to 5 gallons in.. Yea, I "top off" if
the station is not busy. *They* say it's not a
good idea to top off.. I've never had a problem
doing so. Did it on my 90, 98 and now my 02 Dak.
Have a great day!
