You need to cut them out if you have the bumper Fascia that has no holes. The bumper comes with the Fascia attached to it so you can not order them seperatly, I tried.

I asked the dealer about adding fog lights and they where around 220.00 for the hardware. They said the only inserts available(for after you cut the holes) was black. If I did not have a black facia I would have to replace my grey facia with the holes cut into it from the factory or it might not look funny because of the differant color fog light inserts. I guess I have never looked real close at the factory fog light installations so I'm not sure what the inserts would do. Maybe cover up the cut marks? Anyway, the cost was 500.00 for all the parts to do it like it was ordered with that option. I'm not sure if the switch wiring is ran to the front end, I think replacing the switch would be fairly easy but if you have to run wires from the switch to the front bumper causes another step in the procedure.

yeah i have a '97 SLT with the grey fascia.

i wonder if it would look better with just the holes there instead of the grey there from there being no fog lights? lol

Guys, I also have a 97 SLT.The best way is to get a 4" hole saw and just saw out the hole filler. On my SLT, it was pre wired for fog lights.I had gotten the lights and the wiring harness and set aside the whole day to wire them up, but found out that the wires with plugs were just hanging there!!! The plug on the dashboard for the factory switch is also pre-wired just pop out the plug and the wire with plug is right there!!! Get a factory switch and it will look totally stock and plug right in!
Now all you need is a simple relay that will plug into your underhood fusebox in the slot marked "fog lights"(duh!).There are already several identical relays on the fusebox being used for other purposes, either take one to an auto parts store or get one from the dealer (I stole one out of the wiring harness, then took the harness back to the dealer for a refund)I think the whole install took me an hour! The whole thing is a no-brainer!
Dave
