Subject: Whitewall tires IP: Logged
Message: hey guys what do you use to repaint the raised white letters on your tires after time? I thought they made like a special paint pen just for tires but I cant find any at the auto stores. I can find just plain ole white paint pens but I dont think that paint last very long on tires. Any ideas anybody??????? Thank you

Message: You can buy tire cleaning brushes that work great. There stiff so it takes some elbow grease. Don't use a wire brush. It will scratch the letters and the tires. There are a lot of tire cleaning fluids out there. BUT.... I would read the contents label. lots of them are mostly patrolium distillates and smell of diesel fuel.It will eat/rot the tires in time. Scrub the entire tire on the outside at least It will make the black and the white like new again

Message: These tires are brand new Brigestone Dueler AT Revos and I wanted to make the letters all solid white instead of only having just the outline of the letters white. So no I have not been curbing them! For years all I bought was BFG All Terrain but these Duelers are really nice... starting to see alot of them out there!

Message: i would have just stayed with the BFG if you do any kind of offroading
they are more expensive, but FAR more of an AT than the duelers
the duelers are an aggressive car tire
anyway, back on topic
i found that a stiff bristled briush and some comet or ajax works wonders, cleans them up but does not scratch

Message: Guys I am not trying to clean the tires! I am trying to paint the inside of the letters. And no the BFG's are not more expensive. I run 265/75/16 and I get the Revos mounted and balanced out the door with tax for $683.00 and everything out the door for BFG's is $665.00. I have good connections! As far as which tires is best, the new Revos are awesome and are alot quiter than the BF's...

Message: also, go to autozone.com and put these numbers in where it says search:
for white- HT100
for Yellow- HT300
then put in your zipcode to see if a store near you has it...even if they don't have it in the store, they will usually order things and have them shipped to the store free of charge to you. After you get a marker/pen/whatever, do ya think you could tell the rest of us how well it works?
