Subject: 2004 Dakota Question IP: Logged
Message: Hey Folks,
I've currently got a 97 Dakota, CC, 4x4, Manual with the 3.7.
Im looking at getting a 2004 Quad cab for the four doors(I cant stand the 2005+body style). Does anyone know if the 2004 V8 Quad Cabs came with a manual Transmission?
Thanks in advance,
Mac

Message: Actually, the manual tranny is standard. The auto is optional. However, most dealers stocked their lots with auto equipped trucks so manuals were hard to find. (And at $1000 more it makes their cash flow better.)

Message: You sure that you have a 3.7 in that thing? They did not put 3.7s in Dakotas until '04. I would say that you have the 3.9 in it.
Finally... a V8. '01 Dodge Dakota RC, 4.7, 5-speed, 3.92 LSD. = R/T Killer. well at least a stock one
