Well, if it just recently started doing this, I suspect you may need new brake shoes.
Pull the drums and take a look at them. If the friction surface looks OK and is fairly uniform, perhaps an adjustment is all you need.
But if the friction surface is worn thin at one end of the shoe, it's time for new ones.
If the friction surface is all worn away and the squealing is due to metal-to-metal contact between shoe and drum, you will need new shoes and if the drum damage is not too severe, getting the drums turned.

The only way to know what's happening is to look behind the drum and inspect the brake components. If you can't do it yourself, and don't know anyone who can do it for you, take it to a brake shop for analysis.

Thanks Marv, I'll look for someone who'll take it in. Its been an ongoing proble since june and the most anyone has or would do is ajust the intermetiate cable which help for a while but he still didn't want to mess with it. And then I ha a parking brake cable put on and that may not have worked at all. But thanks again Marv.

Usually this is an out-of-round drum. I've had this problem intermittently. I'm just waiting to get my car back on the road so I can do all 4 brakes on my truck. I suggest you replace the shoes and drums.

If you've recently set the parking brake on pretty hard while the brake drum was hot,
there's a good chance the drum are now out-of-round/warped.
