Subject: window rattles when door is shut IP: Logged
Message: Work in progress, you guys have had excellent answeres in helping me rehab 89 sport convertible. I have rattles in both doors when windows are down and I close door. I know its old but is there any thing i can do to stop the noise. I have power locks and speakers and old rods operating locks and windows. j

Message: 1st.
Remove the door panel and grease the bottom track that the 'scissor jack' bushings ride in for the window. Use a 'white grease'. Use it on each point that slides, pivots or moves. A good auto parts store should be able to show you which works best.
2nd.
Look at the window weather stripping where the window comes up through the door. That may likely need to be replaced. I am not positive, but that may still be available from the dealer, as I think it is the same up to '96. If not, maybe one of the aftermarkets (Year One comes to mind)?
