Subject: Son of a Beach!!!! IP: Logged
Message: I finally got around to trying to replace my #3 injector on my 01, 4.7. They sold me the wrong part.
Got it from:
1A Auto
8 Chapel Place
Pepperell, MA 01463
Visit us at 1AAuto.com
Anyways, the injector was WAY bigger, and had a different electrical plug shape!
I called them, they are shipping me a return package to ship it back in, that's pretty cool.
I put it back together, still runs pretty well.
NOW, the Son of a BEACH part:
when I hooked back up the battery, and turned the key, the speedo and tack Pegged full, then the tach went back,
BUT THE SPEEDO IS STUCK ON 123MPH!!
NO codes, yet, runs well, WTF!!
HELP!! I even tried taking off the Neg terminal again and turning the key to clear things, hooked it back up, starts and runs fine, speedo is at 123mph.
HELP

Message: hahaha that sucks i hate that chit. happens all the time. i dont see why it would have anything to do with the injector but if it dose try putting the old injector back in if you still have it. idk how much work it is to do that but thats the first thing i would do.

Message: clint - he already did. How else do you think his truck would run at all. Todd explains he is returning the injector that was too big.
Easy to see why this stuff happens to you. Too bad it happened to Todd !
hahaha. He who laughs last, laughs best.

Message: wtf are you talkin about? i told him to put the old injector that was bad back in, just to see if it fixed the problem. if it did then he would know that the new injector would be the cause of the problem.
so quit your stupid accusations and give some real advice.

Message: this is rare but once in a while assuming you have a peg the needle will stick to the peg. try hitting the top of your dash a few good ones.usually knocks it lose. worth a try.

Message: i understand thats the injector he bought was the wrong one. that is not what im telling him to do. im telling him to take the original stock injector that was bad, the one that dodge installed on the truck. yeah the one that was stuck open. yeah the one that was broke but didnt make the needle peg. yeah that one. not the one from some stupid auto shop.
i was telling him to put it back in. just to see if it changes the needle. idk why the injector would have anything to do with it but since thats the only tihng hes changed its the first thing i would look at.

Message: Had the same problem after changing the battery. Thought WTF...I didnt do anything except the battery. Tried working a piece of wire into the gauges to knock it loose, no good, now what? Got in a drove it around the neighborhood, and just as you hit 15mph and the door locks lock the needle dropped back to normal, weird to say the least. It has only done it once and I have had the battery connection off a few times. The answer ??? Give it a try, let us know how it goes.

Message: Clint,
What he's saying and what you're confusing is he reinstalled the bad injector until the new one gets there...not a replacement.
That's a weird problem...I've heard of weird stuff like that happening after unhooking the battery and hooking it back up though. Usually they were related to different lights on the instrumental panel kicking on after it was hooked up and never going back off.

Message: If a good drive down a rough road doesn't knock it loose, the guage package is easy to get to such that you can push the needle back.
Remove the black trim cover, then just remove the lense off the guage package and push the needle loose.

Message: Well, mine might have been slightly different. If you started to get down hard on the gas it would peg out at 125mph. It you were too high in the RPM range it would shut-off. It pissed me off. It was a easy fix.
