Message: Anyone had a problem with the crank pulley sliding back(towards the block) and causing it to keep shredding belts? I put a new harmonic balancer on it(which helped a little), but its still not lined up with the rest of the pulleys. BTW, its a 97 3.9 liter.

Message: If the crank pulley and the harmonic is bolted tight to the crank and you can see it sliding in and out of the block a little then it sounds like your thrust bearing might be shot ..... time for a overhaul on the engine ....

Message: Got it figured out. Looked at the crank pulley, and it was more forward than I thought. The cause of my belt throwing was my power steering pump pulley was coming off the shaft.
