I think you did your math wrong. 50 miles a day makes 250 a week making 12500 miles for a 50 week year. At 25 mpg makes it 1500 dollars at $3 a gallon. At 16 you get $2343. A differents of $844. If you spend $2000 for the beater, plus insr. and only save $800 to $900- you are in the hole right off the bat..
