Subject: Fan Resistor Block IP: Logged
Message: Anyone having better luck with the "newer style" resistor blocks for the fan blower? I have an '02 QC that blew the cheap-o black plastic resistor card (~$10) after 3 years.
The replacement version (~$38) has a green epoxy coating covering the resistors and LOOKS to be much more robust. After encountering problems again I took it out and the plastic melted at the 2nd connector. That thing gets really hot. Anyway, the replacement didn't even make it to 2 years. Can I expect to replace these every other year? The dealer shrugged his shoulders and said they sell a lot of those... Thanks for any input.

Message: LOL, no actually it said, "Made in Slovenia". No one else had problems with the newer version? Or is it old news.
