Message: i posted this in off road but got no responses
so im entering my dakota in the mud bogs this year
any one have any tips?
should i use 4-hi or 4 low
i dont think power will really be an issue so i was thinking 4-hi
now should i just put in in Drive or 2?
i was thinking just 1st would not spin the tires fast enough to clean them
and, the launch generally starts in a little bit of mud, so do i launch it or just mash the petal down?

But good luck in the contest. It sounds pretty cool, I just wish they had some here in Phoenix that I knew about. I'd atleast go to watch.
If you get video of your run, let us know where we can see it.

Message: 4 hi
and depending on the length of the pit for D or D2
want to see some people head for cover
paddle the throttle (floor it, let off, Floor it, let off etc. etc.)
while turning the wheels left and right
if you have the right tires
you'll be slinging mud all over!
have fun & best O'luck

Message: Can't offer any advice...but just wanted to wish you luck as well. My uncle used to be #1 in his city for mud bogging. He quit doing it though since the payout never came close to the amount of money he was dumping into his trucks. It was fun as hell to watch though!

Message: I don't mud bog ever, but I do have a 4x4 four-wheeler and we like to hit deeply rutted mudpits. If you're in too low of a gear, you'll get stuck quicker cuz your tires will be kicking mud up but not spinning fast enough to move you along and keep you moving. Yet if you get in too high of a gear, you'll start out great and then bog out quicker too...and once you bog out, you got a good chance of getting stuck. 2 sounds like a good bet. You should do pretty well with that setup unless the ruts cause you to bottom out. Then you're screwed.
