Alan, I've got one of those reprogramming kits just laying around and unfortunately haven't had a chance to install it and prolly won't get one. It's still in the original box and contains all the instructions that it was originally packaged with. Never been installed in anything. I think it's the TFOD-HD2 but I'd have to double-check...I do know it'll work for the 42RE transmission as that is what me and the previous owner purchased it for (he sold the truck before he could install it and I just haven't had the time/money to fix my tranny so it'll be safe TO install it). The shift kits clean up some bugs, shift issues, and improve overall performance. The reprogram kits do all the shift kits do and more, like full auto/full manual control, and other enhancements.

You can get the Fairbanks kit for $59 which offers three levels of performance between HD to Full comp. They also offer the Stage 2 TransGo for $115. The Fairbanks is a great deal, and the stage 2 (street/strip) is the same thing as the Stage 2 TransGo, it's just not marketed like TransGo. Everything is in the kit. Both are shift improvers and reprogrammers with full auto/full manual control. They also allow transmission torque converter charge while in park (not just in neutral. This has the added advantage of allowing you to check the tranny fluid in Park....much safer. The Stage 3 of either kit is full manual and intended for racing, so go stage 1 for towing, stage 2 for street/strip.
