I just purchased a Garmin navigation system that comes with a windshield mount as well as a dash mount. The windshield mount positions the thing WAY too far away, and I haven't really considered the dash mount because it involves a permanent placement of a special plastic disk to mount the suction cup on, and I really don't want to mess up my dash with a permanent mount. Have any of you guys played around with finding the ideal mounting location for these things?
