Subject: What is wrong with my truck? IP: Logged
Message: Okay, I have a '97 5.2 and I just recently replaced the TPS sensor
due to the fact that the truck started to die off when I started it. I
found out it was the TPS sensor and replaced it, reset the
computer, and it was fine. Now, it seems like I'm losing power
somewhere. It feels like I'm pushing down on the pedal more than
I usually do. Also, there seems to be a small little pause in
between 1st and 2nd gear when I drive sometimes. I don't know,
maybe the truck is just getting too old. I mean, It does have
217,000 miles on it. Any ideas?

Message: It almost sounds like the catalytic converter is plugging up. Is it the original? If one of the ends of the cat. is discolored, it is overheating. How old is the O2 sensor and pcv valve? New fluid may help the transmission (I assume it is automatic). Try some STP concentrated injector cleaner (black bottle) in the fuel tank.
