Subject: FULLERTON DODGE: allow me to vent.

The following is an account of the treatment that I received from the service? department at Fullerton Dodge, Fullerton, Ca. The symptoms are followed by the "diagnosis" and subsequent repair in parenthesis.

1) Coolant leaking when engine shut off (no problem found - no repair) still leaking.

2) Excessive wear to front tires/steering wheel pulls to the right (alignment performed, no tire rotation - truck still pulls to the right).

3) Engine idles rough (PCM reflashed - engine still idles rough).

4)Noticable high-speed differential whine (stated "This is characteristic of the 2001 Dakota's" - no repair) Whine still there, inside rear wheel now not slipping at all when turning.

Passenger door handle doesn't work (adjusted handle).

I'm completely disgusted with the service from this so-called "5-star" repair facility, which, by the way, was recomended by someone posting on this board. Two days of rental-car charges (no dealer discount), and they fixed a door handle.

At the moment, I'm not particularly thrilled with Dodge quality, either. I hope this truck stays rolling long enough for me to pay it off. Sheesh.

OK.... I'm done ranting.

My dealer (Marietta Dodge in Atlanta) lost their 5 star rating. My clutch went out at 15,000 miles. Went real quick during a shift from 2nd to 3rd, and you could hear clunking, like broken plates or somethink flaping around when the truck idled. Anyway, they said to clutch was just worn out. I paid for a full replacement.

On top of not even trying to help me out with the warranty, they have no rental or loaner program, and they gave me crap about having mud and sand on my skid plates.

If you are in Atlanta, see Hayes Chrysler in Lawrenceville. The service writer is Dave Carter, great guy, great service. I just used them and was very happy. They ARE a 5 Star Dealer.

Good luck,

You know those "5 Star Rating" forms that Chrysler sends out. Tell the truth on them and you'll either see a difference at the dealer in short order or else they'll have their rating yanked like at the Georgia dealer.
I know there are crappy 5 Star dealers out there. When I first started shopping for a Dak the first "5 Star dealership" I went to the sales geek was talking on his cellphone more than he was talking to me...looser.
Sounds like Atlanta could use a decent Dodge dealership!!

After the clutch episode, I thought about standing in the suicide lane of US 41 on a busy saturday, in the bed of my truck (covered with giant lemons)with a bull horn telling every potential new customer how bad they suck.

We have 2 5-star dealerships here - I like one of them, great service, a lot of fun people in the parts department, nice cars, etc. The other is worthless, and I sent a complaint to Chrysler - Chrysler takes them pretty serious, this place already lost it once, I don't know how they got it back.

The worst five star dealer is OysterBay Dodge NY. Those people could give a s$it about what you think. They delivered the car in horrible condition. I had them repaint half the truck and they broke a bunch of crap!! on the inside. I filled out two of thos forms two monthe ago and I havent heard a word from anyone. I love the look of the Dakota and I like the power but I ve seen better quality in a vietnam pair of sneakers.

Marietta Dodge wins the prize for POOR customer service . I bought a used Durango . The salesman told me all kinds of lies . Now I'm told I must order (and pay) for things that the salesman told me he would get to me .I have talked to several different managers and they say the salesman wouldn't lie. I even showed them proof that he did. My conclusion : They're ALL a bunch of liars trying to screw everyone . I even ran into another previous customer who had stories similar to mine. They do not care ,and they will never get my service again .I can't wait to get rid of the car I just bought because they have totally ruined it for me . DO NOT BUY FROM MARIETTA DODGE!!!!!!!!!!!!! RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey python, give herbee dodge in west islip a try. I bought my truck there and i've had it down there a few time's, and they have allway's been good to me. Once they performed an unauthorized repair on my truck (about $100 worth)and not only did i get my truck fixed for free but i also got a free oil change out of it because of the mistake.

Broeheem,

While Fullerton Dodge gives you poor service, your grievence is with DC. Their phone number is in your warranty booklet. Give them a call and tell them Fullerton Dodge is refusing warranty service. I had to do this with Moss Bros. Dodge in San Bernardino and it worked wonders.

I understand your frustration. Center Chevolet in San Bernardino was a pain to deal with. I could never get good service or a striaght answer from them.

I have had good luck with Dublin Dodge here in the east bay area (Northern California).

This website has helped me many times. I look up problems on this site and print out my findings and take them with me to show the servicewriter and the mechanic. I also print up my latest maintainance record (shows every thing from major work to oil changes to tire replacement). This works better then showing up with a complaint and no other infomation.

This method has gotten ball joints replaced twice, fuel pump and check valve replaced (hard cranking problem) at no cost to me. They even will put it back up on the rack to explain how they did things for me.

As a result I have developed a good working relationship with the service manager (Kieth Drake) and the techs and mechanics.

It does not solve all the problems but it makes it easier to get things done.
