Subject: Wheel & tire question IP: Logged
Message: I recently bought a 93 Dakota 4x4. the problem is it came with 97to04 Durango/Dakota 15x8 alloy
wheels & 31x10.50R15 m/s which rub the calipers, tie rods, fenders. So I'm looking for some stock alum/alloy wheels. My question is will the 31's fit a stock 15x6 wheel? If not,(I'll sell those also)what size tire can I run on it? thanks

Message: Can't say what will fit your truck (mine is the next generation) - but that 31" tire will be very pinched on a 15x6 rim. There is a stock alloy 15x7" rim - it's the 5 single spoke style, with a small plastic hub cap covering the lug nuts, but it would still be a little pinched on that. I've seen others post the cure to the calipers rubbing is just minor grinding of the caliper bolt heads to fit the newer 15x8" rims like you have. If the only other rubbing is at full steering lock, I'd do that and keep the combo you have.
