Message: im lookin for some high performance heads for my 5.2 magnum. right now im more or less just looking for prices. i do want the best though, or close to it. aluminum heads would be alright also. i need some more power on top end. im losing power at about 5300. id like to keep power till atleast 6k.
is there a downside to better heads like a cam? "big cam = bad idle and what not" im not to worried about street driving. ill be willing to deal with rough idle or whatever for the power.

Message: if you go that route, you'll need a higher stall converter abd porbably lower gears like 3.92 or 4.10.

Message: yeah a stall converter is also in the works along with gears. 3.92 would be ideal. im actually thinking about getting a whole r/t rear end from a junk yard or somthin.
on that note where is a good place to find a stall converter for cheap? prolly a 2500 stall.

Message: I have many high performance parts, S/C - Cam - Heads... but they really came to life after I installed 4.10 gearing. The motor turns easier and I actually got better milage in town. More power and better milage - worked for me!

Message: what kinda heads did you get? what other perf. parts do you have? what kinda RPMs do you get on the highway? did you suffer any top speed? or did it increase?
i already have the MP1 intake, cam, full exhaust, bored .030, cold air, shift kit. that about all the small things you can do. all im left with now are heads, S/C or stroke it, and NO2. i already have the no2 ordered up but thats just for every once in awhile.
whats the cheapest you guys have found for a rearend kit. lets say 392s.

Message: do you still have the cam card that came with your cam? it'll have information you need to match components so you'll have a driveable truck. otherwise if you don't match components you'll spend a bunch of money and your truck will run like crap.
for instance, the cam you have now may not be a suitable grind for forced induction.

well said Kowalski
and yes, what you want to do is match all your parts
so they have the same operating range
(make their power in the same rpm band)

Message: im not planning on forced induction. im asking about heads. i dont have the cam card. it was installed when i bought the truck. there is a sticker under the hood saying its a mopar performace cam. i have rebuild the motor and have confirmed that it is a mopar cam.
cam part number on the sticker is P5249549
MPI intake part number P5007852
also has a mopar PCM part # P5007096
here is the website for the cam. when i click on it for specs they all go to the jeep camshaft. so i cant get the specs. but i know its 4.55 of lift.
http://www.mopar.com/m_perf_subcat2Check.jsp?SubSubSubGrpID=706&dummy5=1181007163670
after going through the site i found the perfect high stall converter so that is done. i just need to save 300 bucks. now all i need is the heads.
i think im ganna go with the r/t head. part #P5007145. it says that it has 11 valve cover bolts. does that mean i need to get differnt valve covers. cause mine have 10. the only difference from stock heads and the r/t head is about 40cfm. is that alot? is it really worth 1500 bucks? should i look eles ware for heads?
thanks for anyone who atually read this far. any advice is great.
