Message: what purpose do you want the body lift for?
The body lift does not add much for ground clearance, it will allow you to fit bigger tires so you'll gain a little ground clearance there.
You'll set up higher, assuming other adjustments, like exhaust, you can travel through deeper water and mud without ruining the interior.
If you want ground clearance, you are wasting money and you will need to go with a suspension lift.

Message: My cousin installed a body lift many years ago on his mid-80's Bronco as an economical alternative to a suspension lift, all to install larger tires.
The 39.99$ JC Whitney box arrived with all the spacers and longer bolts, simple enough!
After breaking off a few rusted body mount bolts,
many 'little problems' where discovered once the lift was installed..
-mechanical fan now lower than the rad shroud
-radiator and heater hoses stretched
-parking brake cables stretched / brakes always on
-automatic transmisson linkage had to be modified
-steering column lenght
-fuel tank filler hose too short
-various electrical wiring too short
ended up a week long of thinkering before he could even drive it, and still issues afterwards.
You have to think about all the components that are body mounted or frame/engine mounted and how they are connected together and plan if your lift will affect them.
IMO: suspension lift, more expensive but simpler and more effective off-road.

Message: Dan - sounds like your cousin bought a cheap kit. Most kits like the one's from Performance Accessories come with all of the materials to lengthen the things that need to be longer. Get what you pay for. PA kits cost under $300. I have had a BL on for 2 years with not a single issue.
