* Reduce Our Dependence On Foreign Oil *

- Crude Oil over $60 a barrel, Gasoline over $3.00 a gallon -

*** REDUCE OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL ...
.............. WITH SYNTHETIC LUBRICANTS ***

- SYNTHETIC LUBRICANTS ARE MADE FROM LIQUID NATURAL GAS (LNG)
(abundant in the USA) --- and NOT processed from imported crude oil.

- SYNTHETIC LUBRICANTS IMPROVE FUEL ECONOMY

Industry tests have shown improved fuel economy of between 2 - 5% in vehicles using SYNTHETIC LUBRICANTS. Many AMSOIL customer testimonials tell of even greater savings. If all vehicles in America used synthetic motor oil, gear lubes and drive train fluids, we would save enough fuel to eliminate our need for thousands of barrels of oil.

- EXTENDED DRAIN INTERVALS = Longer Oil Life = Less Oil Used

AMSOIL synthetic motor oils are designed for EXTENDED DRAIN INTERVALS and reduce the amount of oil used by as much as 80%. SIMPLE MATH: Fewer oil changes = less oil used. If everyone extended their drain intervals we would eliminate our need for thousands of barrels of oil.

- ENHANCED THERMAL AND OXIDATIVE STABILITY = REDUCED OIL CONSUMPTION

Synthetic lubricants have Lower Volatility and Higher Density = Less Consumption. With reduced oil consumption the benefit is less oil used. With all engines running synthetic lubricants, less consumption would eliminate our need for thousands of barrels of oil.

We can all do our part to REDUCE OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL!

PLEASE CONSIDER AMSOIL when you choose to do your part by switching to synthetics!

BOTTOM LINE (for everyone else)

My post might save soldiers lives in the future!

If we can REDUCE OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL, and become more ENERGY INDEPENDENT, maybe we won't have to send our soldiers into combat in the future over crude oil (water probably, but not crude oil).

LIQUID NATURAL GAS is ABUNDANT in the USA.

SYNTHETIC LUBRICANTS (made from Liquid Natural Gas) and vehicles that run on NATURAL GAS will help us to become ENERGY INDEPENDENT.

1) SYNTHETIC LUBRICANTS ARE MADE FROM LIQUID NATURAL GAS (LNG)
(abundant in the USA) --- and NOT processed from imported crude oil.

2) SYNTHETIC LUBRICANTS IMPROVE FUEL ECONOMY

3) EXTENDED DRAIN INTERVALS = Longer Oil Life = Less Oil Used

4) ENHANCED THERMAL AND OXIDATIVE STABILITY = REDUCED OIL CONSUMPTION

We can all do our part to REDUCE OUR DEPENDENCE ON FOREIGN OIL!

SYNTHETIC LUBRICANTS and ENGINES that run on LIQUID NATURAL GAS!

PLEASE CONSIDER AMSOIL when you choose to do your part by switching to synthetics!

Some of the natural gas production in the US is a byproduct of crude drilling.

E85 is causing an increased demand in corn production. This is leading other farmers to abandon less profitable crops such as cotton and tobacco. This in turn causes the price of all of those crops to rise. An Increased cost in corn causes an increased cost for cattle farms which in turns causes an creased cost of beef at your local grocery store. Some dairy farmers feed corn to their dairy cows as well so this also causes an increased cost in milk and cheeses.

Let's reduce the cost of oil and gas and increase the cost exponentially more for lower to middle income families especially those with the average 2.5 children :

Don't forget instead of spending $6/qt for amsoil you can spend $13 for 5qt of wal-mart supertech oil. Why? because it's readily available, it's cheap, and it's API certified! and energy conserving :)

Remember your 3R's.. not reading, riting and rithmatic your fools! reduce, reuse and recycle!

Dan,

You are one of the good guys and I always read your posts.

However, I must correct you this time.

If ALL of the available corn crop was used to produce Ethanol,
Ethanol would only replace 5% of America's total consumption.

In addition, Ethanol is not as efficient. You only get about 85% of the MPG using ethanol as you would gasoline. Latest studies also show that Ethanol might be more harmful to the environment (ozone) than gasoline. And don't forget, Ethanol is highly subsidized by the government (51 cents per gallon paid directly to the blender). Farmers are also subsidized by the government. Without these subsidies, ethanol plants don't operate profitably. How do I know? My full time profession is financing Real Estate and Energy Related Projects.

Therefore, I know Ethanol is not the answer.

FYI - Walmart Supertech Motor Oil is a Group III hydrocracked CRUDE OIL based oil, ... not a PAO based (Group IV/V) 100% Synthetic Oil made from Natural Gas - so that does not help reduce our dependence on imported crude.

Who makes Walmart Supertech Motor Oil? There are actually two answers: In the U.S. (last time I checked) it was Quaker State (actually a subsidiary of the "old" Quaker State Company). In Canada it was made by PetroCanada using
Chevron's hydrocracking technology (still crude oil).

If you want to confirm my statement regarding NATURAL GAS as being THE WAY TO GO (Synthetic Lubricants and Fuel), don't just take my word for it. Read Boone Pickens interview in BARRONS and PLAYBOY.

Synthetic Lubricants (made from Liquid Natural Gas) and Natural Gas as a fuel - are the answers to Reducing American Dependence on Foreign Oil ... until we develop a new technology that eliminates the need for gasoline and/or lubricants.

Buy more Arab oil and donate to al Qaeda. The Saudis are the number one sponsers of terrorism. If we had never bought Arab oil they couldn't afford to get a ticket to the US, nevermind attacking us. I guess the lives of thousands of Americans is a small price when compared to cheap oil.

Amsoil man - you're right, there's not enough corn in the US (even if farmers who are paid not to grow corn, do grow corn).

The point I was getting at, people think it's the be-all end-all solution. It's actually causing more problems for joe consumer that solving problems. I'm not even sure why honda is touting they are the most fuel efficient car company in america and pushing their hybrids. My sister's first car, 85 dodge aries got damn near 50 mpg on regular gas.

I'm not sure what the big deal is with all of these manufacturers pushing flex fuel vehicles. None of the easily accessible/convient fuel stations between home and work even sell E85.

Read Boone Pickens interview in BARRONS and PLAYBOY. I'm sure you tell your woman you subscribe for the articles :)

maybe next year i'll be a good boy and santa steve will send me 6 quarts of oil ;)

George Carlin's Solution to Save Gasoline:

President Bush wants us to cut the amount of gas we use. The best way to stop using so much gas is to deport 11 million illegal immigrants! That would be 11 million less people using our gas. The price of gas would come down. Bring our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle and some ammo and ship him to Iraq Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military. Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it. After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will a lso be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot. This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves. If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway, without the canteen, rifle or ammo. Problem solved. If you think this is a good solution to both the problems, forward it to your friends.

I just did.

miguel,

I am also a big fan of George Carlin.

FYI - there was a time when new immigrants to this country were immediately recruited into the military, so that is not a bad idea. They could earn their citizenship by dodging bullets and mortars.
