Finally got the problem fixed "I hope"!
I also had to plug in the emission hose also; it was disconnected because we thought it was throwing off the 02 sensor. Turns out the o2 was burnt out!. So now I think fuel economy has gone up about 2+ MPG.
After carefully washing out my K&N. My tuck does run a bit better. If you have a K&N, you really need to watch who much dirt and bugs builds on it. That really does affect power and GAS!
Yes,tell me your results Dan.M

Message: I installed the downstream one last night. I couldn't reach the upstream with both hands to unplug it. Need to figure out a way to do that.

Message: What "emission hose" are you talking about that you unplugged? Maybe that was your problem.

Message: you must have a 40 gallon tank on that dakota of yours. Unless you have another car or truck, your doing pretty darn good with just 22 gallons.

Message: Upstream O2 sensor is really easy with a lift...lol
I just changed both of mine, plus plugs, wires, etc...hoping it makes a significant difference in gas mileage.

Message: Any updates on this thread gents?
I'm curoius as to the results, and also if your O2 sensor replacements were caused by getting a bad sensor code, or just seeing decreased milage, or what.
Thanks.

Message: I have not noticed any difference in fuel consumption. I replaced both up and down stream sensors. Why? I noticed on my scanner it was switching slowly and i was close to 80k miles. No codes were thrown.
I now have an idle problem that i need to track down. I may see an improvement once I get the truck running well.

Message: Well my idle is freaking rough any way, But with 235+K miles who cares. As long as it runs thats what counts.
I've switched to durablend oil and I'm getting a bit above 17 miles per gallon.
Also, I finaly got a compressor going, and that means the windows can stay up for now!!
