Subject: Dynomax question IP: Logged
Message: The only exhaust kit I can find for a 94 Sb Rc Dakota is the dynomax with a super turbo muffler and a single pipe. Does anyone have any experiance with this muffler?

Message: Yes...the Dynomax "Super Turbo" was the first aftermarket muffler I had on my Dak back in 1997 (about 2 months after I purchased it). Excellent muffler.

Message: Was it a single outlet Bernd? As you know I have the glasspack with duals, will the Dynomax with the single pipe give me alot more power? My buddy that has a 89 Dakota 4WD is going to take my duals I warned him about the power loss that I witnessed with the glasspack, he doesn't care. Was the Dynomax quite with the V6? Loud is not my 1st priority, it's got to have a nice rumble though. Power is all I want, with the stock muffler I could spin the tires pretty good, when a exhaust shop ripped me off $300 and made me a set of duals and a glasspack I lost power.

Message: Bernd,
I can get Dynomax locally and was wondering, if
I purchased the muffler, would there be any
reason to NOT use the existing pipes? (my truck
is only 3 months old). I have heard it is
unecessary to get all new pipes; a free flow
muffler is all one needs. What do you think?
Also, if you've heard a Gibson, how loud is the
Dynomax compared to the Gibson cat back? (swept
side). It has been said the Gibson is slightly
louder than stock which is what I would prefer
(don't want to annoy the neighbors).
Thanks.

Message: I put the Dyn. S. Turbo on with stock tailpipe soon after I got my Dak. First time I pulled my trailer the inlet pipe detached from the muffler body. Just couldn't take the heat. They gave me another (lifetime warrenty) but I really didn't trust it and replaced it with Ultra Flow and tailpipe from a 99 R/T.

Message:
I had a Dynomax Super Turbo with a 2.5" IN and dual 2" OUT. No loss in performance at all.
If you plan on running the dual exits, don't go above 2.5". Anything larger for a dual exit will result in a loss of bottom end performance.
If your truck is still new, it should come with 2.5" pipes anyway so keep them intact. to the muffler. Then, you can do whatever you want from the muffler on back.
I did this on my '97 V6.
