This is probably a stupid question, but on the 4x4 engage switch, when you place it in 4Hi should the indicator light turn green? Right now, while I am in 2wd the light is green, when I switch to 4Hi the light above it turns orange. Should it turn green when the 4x4 is engaged? I've been curious because most shift on the fly type indicators I've seen flash or change color to indicate when its engaged. The dakota doesn't appear to do that, unless possibly its not engaging.

I got an 2003 4.7 QC and just went out and tried mine. Light is green for 2HI, yellow for 4HI and 4LOW. Remember to shift to neutral B4 shifting to 4LOW and wait for the yellow light to stop flashing.
