Subject: Any 4.7's from Atlanta here? IP: Logged
Message: Just wondering if there is anyone else on here from Atl. I'm looking for a local shop who will install front tow hooks on my 2000 4.7(custom 'cause DC don't make them). Also entertaining the idea of a Ken Bell SC.
Also, will a modified intake/TB/SC ect. pass the emissions test here?

Message: Will,
I live in Grayson near Snellville. You shouldn't have to get your vehicle inspected yet. I have a 2000 QC and was told they had extended the emission inspection another year for 2000 vehicles. I will find out shortly as my tag is due next week.
I cannot help you on a local shop hopefully someone else can. I know there are several other Dakota owners from the Atlanta area on the DML.

Message: Yo! Over Here! 4.7L, 5-spd, 3.55 sure grip, Club Cab Sport, cast in Amber Fire. I live in Decatur. Where ya'll at?
As for your tow hooks, I'd call 4WD Parts Center up in Duluth. They are just north of Pleasant Hill off Buford Hwy.
As for intake & TB, you should do just fine for emissions. The SC may push the issue, but it's worth a shot. Keep me posted if you fail emissions with that stuff, cuz I want to try some of that as well.

| Maybe try a Drawtite front receiver.. IP: Logged
Message: If you are having trouble with tow hooks may want to look into a Drawtite front receiver. It really beefs up the front, hardly shows except for the receiver portion, bolts on easily and includes to tow loops as well. Plus, you will have a receiver up front that adds other options later.
Good luck

Message: Will, I am in the Chamblee area and got my '01 quad cab with 4.7 last month. I've added a Flowmaster 50 series muffler with dual pipes out the side. Looks like it came from the factory that way and sounds great to my ear. Will probably add a Z tube intake next. I have used 4WD Parts Center for some work on my Jeep, but they are expensive and I usually do my own work on it as much as I can.

Message: I'm in the Cumberland/Vinings area of Cobb. I haven't done the TB yet, but I think it is coming. The SC is a (feasible)dream, but I'll probably wait a few more years for the warranty to run its course. Unless I get ambushed by a TRD or something and decide to hell w/ the warranty. Hasn't done me any good anyway yet though.

Message: Hi Will and Steady, I am in Snellville too. Dunno about the tow hooks, but I did buy a tb and will be putting it on soon. I am also about to buy a s/c for my 5.2 and it claims it will not affect the emissions, we will see. I cannot imagine that a tb and intake could do anything but help as it is drawing in more air. I have a homebrew intake and went right through emissions back in July and mine is a 98.
Good luck,
Rascal

Message: I work in Vinings. Corner of Paces Ferry and New Paces Ferry. You can see my Amber Fire 2000 Sport parked out in the lot almost all the time on weekdays. Right acros from the rail-car Chinese restaurant.
