Subject: Click from in Cab IP: Logged
Message: Just curious if anyone else ran across this before...
I have an '01 4.7 club cab,,,and lately at what seems random times I get this super loud 'CLICK' from what I believe to be inside the cab. It sounds like two big pieces of the interior trim are clicking against each other,,,coming from the passenger side floorboard area.
It happens when I'm braking and accelerating, and I swear it's happened a few times while I'm just cruising. Happens about once/twice day.
Just really loud, and freaks me out. I can't find any trim that's loose on the inside,,,anyone think it's something in/around the firewall???
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ando

Message: i have a 1998 Dak CC and i have a similar noise. i have checked my panels and everything seems tight and one of my friends in the passenger seat said it sounded like it was coming from inside the door panel, almost like the glass hitting the metal of the door. i'll be replacing my speakers soon and when i have the door panel off i'm going to take a look around.

Message: I had a click-popping noise in my 03 QC (maybe not the same noise as yours) and it was driving me nuts. I could duplicate the noise by opening the passanger door and bumping it against the hinge stop. The noise was coming from the metal brackets for the stereo and AC controls, but I could never pin point exactly where it was coming from. After having the dash off 2-3 times I finally ran some epoxy in between the 2 peices of metal I though were causing the problem and threw in a couple of 1/4" bolts to tighten it up. The peices appeared to be tight, but something associated with them was causing a clicking, after the epoxy and bolts the noise went away.

Message: ZenDak,
Haven't seen you post in awhile, or maybe I just haven't seen it.
Don't you live in the Austin area? Austin, sure brings back memories!
Anywho, my 01 QC doesn't have this noise. I hope you find it, it does sound annoying to say the least.
And, I don't recall many, if ever a post regarding this noise. So to Mr. DOH, chill out with the do a search thing.
ZenDak if I 'member, has some 206 cams in his 4.7, and has ran 14's.
