Message: Try running something like an ice pick or thin screw driver between the valve and the hose. Do this in 2 or 3 places and twist the hose off. They can be a real bugger at times.Put a lite coat of anti seize on the new one.

because he's replacing the valve, not the hose.

Message: if that hose is that hard to come off
then it means its not very pliable anymore
and should be changed too

Message: The hose connection with th PCV valve is real tight, and it's in an awkward location for two-hand access.
One trick that works sometimes is to push the hose on a bit more to break the grip, then you can work the hose off by twisting the hose a little while pulling on it.

Message: PCV valve hoses are preformed with needed curves. For this reason they are somewhat harder then water hose. They do develop some vacuum and you don't want them clasping.
