Message: The part you are looking for is called a subframe. Have you tried any Meyers dealers ? Sometimes they have used ones, but you'd probably have to check a lot to find a used one.

Message: Not at all hard to build what you need. I used to plow businesses. I used the same plow for many years and built my own mounts. I first installed it on a CJ5, then a Datsun 4x4 pickup and then on a 79ford 4x4 pickup. I built all the mounts. took less then a day with all of them. All you need do is look at one on any truck you can find with one installed. Nothing to them really other then proper mounting and good strength.

Message: I have no idea how to even begin to build one, and the onle place I just went to told me that from 1997-2004 Meyers did not make a mount for the dakota, Does anyone know this to be wrong?

Message: Kowalski has one on his rig right now. so obviously someone makes a subframe for it. dont know if meyers does. i would look around a bit more and if meyers really doesnt make one, then i would recommend employing a friend that can help you weld one up for your rig. its not hard but if you dont have fabricating skills then it can be. plus you dont want to fukk it up because if you do and the plow falls off on the road, you will have a bad day.

Message: Mine's a Fisher - the minute mount system, which would be substantly different. If Meyers didn't make one for that aplication, advice from OBIO3 is usually right on the money. Just put the plow in the back of your truck and check out some welding fabrication shops. I doubt you'd have to look far to find one to take care of this. Kind of wishing I'd done that myself - I prefer the old style mounts. If you make a cradle on castors for the plow, and can keep it in a shed or garage, they go on even easier than the newer minute mount style.

Message: The other possibility is to modify the subframe for a 96 Dakota. I have a Meyers plow on my 96 so I know the make one. A few years ago, I was looking for a front hitch for one of my Dakotas and since there wasn't one available for an early Dakota, I bought one for a 97+. It fit the earlier model with just a little modification. That tells me they are pretty close in design.

Message: Would any of you with the 97-99 dakota be willingto take a picture of your subframe mount? I have someone who is willing to help me make one, but we would like to see how one actually mounts to the dakota so we have an idea where to start from.

Message: I am still hoping that someone with a 97-99 Dakota can take a picture of their subframe mount. I tried looking through that plowsite.com but it was not very helpful. If someone that has one could snap a wuick picture I would really appreciate it!
