Subject: Power trip?? IP: Logged
Message: Help again needed. With the key turned on but not turning over, should there be power detected at the coil? If yes and there is none, where can I go from here?

Message: boy, that was a lengthy answer on Dodge Questions. Did it make any sense to you pick? Guess you would have to know how to use and have one of those meters. Still didn't get a yes or no out of it.

Message: Yeah. The info was a bit convoluted. I'm going broke replacing things while troubleshooting that are probably fine. So far, the fuel pump, ignition coil, wires, plugs, Distributor Cap and rotor, pickup coil. Tested the automatic shutdown and fuel pump relays and two other relays in the powertrain control. Whatever the problem is, it's intermittent and causes the truck to stall. At first it would start again after a bit. The last two times it happened within two blocks of home and isn't starting again. Once it does start, it runs fine until it just dies again. Aaarggghhh!!

Message: There was a column in the paper about auto repair questions. Someone was having their Dodge van just die on them. It was diagnosed as the crankshaft sensor or something like that. Makes sense that a bad sensor or one going bad could cause intermittant problems. I don't know enough of these new fangled cars to even know where this thing is. lol I do know they have many sensors spread around so as to not make things easy.
