Subject: 8.25" to 9.25" swap IP: Logged
Message: My truck is a 03 QC w/ 8.25".
How hard is it to swap out a 8.25" w/ a 9.25" rear end? My biggest consern is the brakes. Can I simpily unbolt the brake units from the 8.25" and bolt them up to the 9.25" from a dakota r/t? Any tips or tricks?

Message: Just did that swap. I used 3.5" "U" bolts and matching spring plates from Foothills off road shop. Be sure the yoke matches your type of setup before you start. Most everything else is the same. Good luck.

Message: in regards to the brakes, i would have to imagine, that you just unscrew the fitting from the 8.25 brakes, and when you put the 9.25 in, screw it into its brake assembly. pretty simple.
