Subject: Rear Sway Bar IP: Logged
Message: Question on the rear sway bar on my truck. The bushings on the end link are worn have play in them and I get some rattling when going over bumps. Do they make just the bushing for the end links? Or do I have to buy the whole link and replace it?
Thanks...

Message: Checked the site and didn't see reference to rear end links. I'm not sure if the bushings in the rear sway bar end links are removable. They look like they should come out, but haven't taken the link off yet. Has anyone replaced just the busing in the endlink? Or will I have to buy the entire end link with the bushing loaded in it?

Message: my truck doesn't have a rear sway bar or else I'd try to help some more. I don't see why they would make a sway bar without removable bushings but it is a vehicle. the stupid crap they do sometimes..

Message: no no no...the bushings on the sway bar are removeable. I'm just talking about the end links that connect the ends of the sway bar to the axle. There's little bushings in the end links that are worn out. The sway bar bushings themselves are good still.

Message: you might as well pick up new links. they're about $15 bucks each from advance auto parts and it takes about 20 minutes to do both of them.

Message: I had a clunk noise coming from the rear of
my 2001 Quad cab, and found that the sway bar
bushings and end links were loose.
I ordered the parts from Summit, and installed
them
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=ENS%2D5%2 D5148G&N=700+4294908110+4294907880+4294924653+429492 5130+4294839050+4294841743+4294812166+115&autoview=sku
However, I still have a cluck noise in the rear.
I think that I need to replace the rear leaf
spring bushings, but haven't had a chance to look
into that yet.

Message: I have an '01 RC. bb2dak, check to see if the "clunk" in the rear comes when you accelerate with a 3/4 full fuel tank. A shortage of baffles in the tank allows fuel to slam the tank wall, making a "clunk".
