There's a set of Pilot lights that are specifically designed to go into the stock holes on a Dakota, will run you in the neighborhood of 100$.

I think PIAA has the same thing but they cost a bit more.

You can get Cyberwhite Navigator from Pep Boys, Walmart, or any number of other parts places for 50$. You'll need to drill an extra hole in the bracket to put them in but they're bright as hell. They are made by Pilot. The glass has a blue tint but the light shows white. I have these and they don't seem to blind at night. Make sure you look for them in a 4 inch though, as the 3.5 will leave an unsightly gap in the hole. There's any nubmer of different brands in the parts stores going for anywhere from 45 to 100 dollars that are of decent quality and good brightness. Dodge charges 100$ apiece which would lead you to believe you have to spend that kind of money on the aftermarket to get anything comparable but it's absolutely not true. You can spend half and still get something way better than the weak 37 watt stock units.
