Have an '06 Dakota Quad with Lear cap & 12K mostly Interstate miles. On occasion driving above 65 with a healthy cross wind I get a very loud air horn noise. Scares the H out of you when it happens. Also have a chirping sound sometimes. Have had the window seals checked by dealer, all OK. They say they have no idea what is causing it.
Anyone else ever heard of a problem like this?

I have the same noise every once in a while.
It's the top of the door seal vibrating (breaking
the seal) when the cross wind hits it.
You're also right.. It scared the H out of me the
first time it happened too! lol
It only happens (to me) with very hard cross
winds. Always the drivers door too. I never took
it back to the dealership either. I figured I'd
live with it.. You never know what 2x4 or crow
bar they might use to make adjustments.
Nothing to worry about unless you also get water
splashed on your head (if it's also raining) when
it happends.
