Message: Any carbon build up can also cause a hot spot, leading to pre-ignition. That's why the guys are talking about something to dissolve the carbon.

Message: I've got 43,000 miles on my Dak R/T and the plugs have never been changed and it still runs like a champ on regular with no pinging. Now you take my work van. It is serviced by a truck stop company that comes to work and services and fuels our vehicles. So my work van has started pinging like crazy and sounds like a diesel while going uphill. I figure in this instance it is watered down gas that they stick in as the price of gas has gone up here and I figure they're trying to make up some of the money they lose on the contract.

Message: Not likely - gas and water don't mix, water will seperate to the bottom.

Message: That's true, so it must be the cheapest grade of gas that they could find.
