Subject: what headers for 360? not a magnum IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2001 dakota. I had a shop do the headers on my late 70’s 360 mopar. They went through 3 sets of headers (not my money don't really care) but on the 3rd set they bought them black, cut them up, and powder coated them and $350 later i put the transmission in and they hit the brake booster. A dummy 727 was in it when the headers where put in so there’s no excuse for him getting them wrong. The headers are made crazy the 3rd primary back is turned forward then bent up around backwards and it hits the brake booster. They have been beat in by the brake booster. I would like to know if there’s a set out there that can be bought. I am just going to beat the he!! out of them more to get them to fit but I want it to be very temporary. I want to get it running and moved but this truck was NOT built on a budget and the job on the headers make it look that way.
All forged, stroked and arp'ed...every last bolt. The only way the go!

Message: try finding a smaller diameter brake booster from an aftermarket company. or a hydro-boost system may not take up as much room as the vacuumm booster does.

Message: Thanx for the help man and i will look into if they make one and where i can get it. It was hitting on the other side to but with a couple hits its not now. I don't want the headers dented so i need to do something. When i find out what you said i'll prolly take out the ac and blower motor so the other side wont hit anymore. Its just an old show truck
