Message: I have an '02 Dakota with powerslots in the front, and drums in the rear.
Over the past few months, I have noticed that after the brakes heat up, I get a pulsation in the cab/seat of my truck. I took it to the dealership as it was more apparent after they adjusted the rear brakes, and they turned the rear drums. It did not help. One thing to note aswell, is that I have a shock int he rear that is leaking.
I can feel a minor vibration in the braking pedal, and I do notice that while I am braking, if I let go of the steering wheel, it has a tendancy to move to the left and right slightly.
I am now starting to think the powerslots are warped (Went through some fairly deep puddles in the past two months), but wanted people opinions before I pull off the front rotors and get them turned.

Message: Check for mud buildup on the inside of the wheels. What's the chances your brakes were overheated when you went through deep water/mud. Might have cooled to fast warping them. Power slots have more braking ability designed into the rotors. This causes them to heat up faster then normal rotors. And yes they can warp. I put NAPA's best rotor on mine about 60,000 miles ago. There still good as new. My idea is, the more metal there is the slower they heat up and slower they cool off. this to me is the most important factor to keep from warping. The Quality NAPA rotors are heavier indicating better construction . Bottom line. I wouldn't even consider using anything else due to the great service I'm getting from these. This is all my logic and you may not agree, one thing for sure. Mine are still perfect.

Message: Warped brake rotors is not as common as some folks might think. Use a dial indicator to find out. Overheating and improper bedding are more common culprits.
