Subject: Selling my NV3500, got a question IP: Logged
Message: What all does the NV3500 fit?
It came off of a 2000+ 3.9 V6 2WD Dakota and I bought it for a 4.7V8 which I confirmed it was supposed to work with that too.
Obviously it will NOT work on a 4X4 because the output does not come off.
But will this work on a Ram and a 5.2 as well?
I want to know so I can list the ad properly.
I am asking $800.00 for it. I have it on Phoenixcraigslist.com
I sold my project car, which is what I WAS going to use it on behind the 4.7.

Message: RAMs 1500's with the 4.7 'till (2006?) when the 6- speed manual became standard.
NV3500's were also available on Chevrolet and GMC 1/2-ton pick-ups,
but not sure of which model years.

Message: Mike, I noted a NV3500 for sale on craigs list for a Chevy. But the bell housings are one piece, so no cross breeding.
For sh*ts and giggles we just took a 1973 318 starter (the old big ones) and it even mounted right on it.
I have to assume the 3.9 and 5.2 share the same bell housing. Don't people who swap 3.9 to a 5.2 use the same tranny???
1hotkadota, it just MAY fit. You had an auto like me right? The tranny would not work for me, unless I forget about having 4WD!
I also have a 2000 PCM for a manual tranny/4.7 :)

Anybody?... know if this tranny will fit the 5.2/5.9 as well?
Also. What would be a normal price to pay for one in good condition?

Message: The nv-3500 was used in the 5.2 Daks. It will also work with the 5.9. But it needs a different bell housing.

Message: I am pretty sure that the bellhousings on the 3.9s, 5.2s, and 5.9s, are all the same. You would just have to change out the flywheel on it if it had been an automatic. Umm, I do not know if the bellhousings are different on the 4.7s from the other magnums, so yeah.
'97 RC V6, 5spd, soon to be V8, 5spd!

So I guess it should fit them all.
SO what is one worth?

Message: I've seen nv-3500's going for $600-$800 also depends on the condition and miles on it.

Message: That would be a deal I guess. I paid over $800 but not much. I got all of the parts with it though. I am selling for $800
On ebay they are around $900+
Mostly by places that rebuilds them and wants your core or an aditional $350
I'm selling mine with the clutch, pressure plate, 3.9 flywheel, and the clutch master/slave section. If anyone wanted to CONVERT from a 42/46RE to a standard, I basically got what it takes minus the clutch pedal.

Message: The bellhousing patterns are the same on all of the 3.9,5.2 and 5.9 magnums as well as all of the mopar small block v-8,s from at least 1967 and up.The 3.9 flywheel is the same as the 5.2(neutral balance). The 5.9 has an external balance so the flywheel is different. It's also different from the pre 1992-360 motor.
