Subject: $17.000.00 Offer IP: Logged
Message: Hey Guys I just need someone to vent to. I got an offer on my Truck yesterday from my neibor on the other block. I currently owe $15.500.00 on the truck the guy offered me 17.000.00 flat. For not taking him up on his offer my wife wants a dam divorce hypothetically I HOPE. Even thoe it’s a better offer then the triad in Value I have put a lot of work and Pride in this truck after all my mods and Tires it is actually a loss by about a thousand dollars if not more. I see her logic and Iam sure so will you,s.I am two months Behind on the truck I know I’m getting 8.000.00 back for my Taxes in A week so no problem on paying it up to date. I am even going to pay it 3 months ahead so I don’t have to worry about it for another three. Some may know I am going threw the Grievant Stages with my Job as of now and money is very tight her being the only Income. I will have my job Back in three more Months Hopefully with Back pay I cant count on the Back pay as I can the Income Taxes.Hel they owe me 3.200.00 in Unemployment I haven’t seen or heard from that and can’t count on that either. I took this in consideration when the Offer was purposed to me. I just don’t think it wasn’t worth giving it up yet if so much(money wise)is still up in the air. The bad part is the guy who offered me the deal his Wife hangs out with mine so I will not hear the end of this anytime Soon:( Well she will get over it I guess OR GET DOWN THE ROAD. 2003 SLT Quad Cab 4.7 4x4 Superchips,K&N CA,HO Cams, Bissini Ys and High flow Cat, Gibson Headers and 3inch cat back, window Gards and Bug Shield.

Message: You can't expect to recoup much money you put into mods when you sell a truck; nor do vehicle payments work as you suppose. If you pay an extra 3 months ahead, that comes off the back end of the loan - it doesn't mean you could miss 3 months payments as you seem to believe. You could bank the money so you could use it for payments when things are tight though. With a family to support, you should realize you can't depend on winning your arbitration, you need better plans than that for their security. Many people often owe more on their vehicles than they are worth. I have no idea what this triad is you are talking about, did you check the value on something like KBB.com ? Sounds like maybe you should have jumped at the offer if you care about your family. Vehicles will come and go throughout your life Josh; don't you care about the family you started ?

Message: In your situation, if you knew the kid he'll probably still want it. Sell it to him, take the extra 2000.00 and save it till you get this supposed 8000.00. You can get a decent truck for 10,000.00. It'll make your girl happy, your friend happy, and you won't have payments. I'm not preachin', just giving you options. I'ts your life.

Message: take it to car max and see what they offer you.
then sell it to your buddy - is he paying up front.
DON'T YOU FINANCE IT WITH MONTHLY PAYMENTS. THAT'S A SUCKER BET.
if he can't get a loan, forget it.
right now, it's just a offer.

Message: Sorry ur not getting the support here you expected...
Everyone here loves their truck (or u wouldnt be here). In fact Im sure many, as I, have heard from our lovely wives that we love our truck more then them.
But see it for what it is - an expensive hobby.
Your first mistake was leasing the truck.
Why would you put mods an the banks truck?
Family comes first. Then health, Then fun!
And not to be a dick but come on, get a part time job!
No man should have his wife as the sole source of income, not evern for a week, no matter what.
Your playing harder then you work.

Message: I figured you guys would say that. I called the bank last week Mr. Kowloski they will except 3 months in advance and it will cover it for three months but no more then that anything more than three Months will go right to the Prinsible.I can count on my Arbitration already talked to the Unions Lawyer its a shoe in because of the Discrimination. I was all up for getting another Full time job for now. Our Lawyer advised us that if we could scrape by it would work out better in the end. He expects the arbitrator to award me full back pay again because of the Discrimination. If I was working they will only have to pay the difference from my new income. My Wife made the call to wait it out. Man guys Nothing Like making me feel like sh!t!I know my Fricking Responsibilities I have had the same job for 11 Years at Michigan Liqueur Control and Prob Make more Money then half the Idiots That were Just Bashing me but anyway sorry I brought this up now. I will still be keeping my truck. I have never asked my wife for nothing I have always paid everything she knows this and is willing to cover the six months.Sorry if yall don’t have or had a good woman like that. (She Hated The Truck Before This All Happened She Would Have Wanted It sold Regardless)

Message: Josh - I wish you the best of luck in your arbitration as we have already discussed the problem you had with your work; but I do have one question for you to think about. If the arbitration is such a sure thing, then why doesn't the company just go ahead and settle the case to limit their potential liability ?

Message: My woman knows better than to ever ask me to sell my 04 Quad CAb 4x4 for any reason. On the other hand it's paid for, my finances are squared away, and my job is secure. If any of those wasnt the case she wouldn't HAVE to tell me to sell it, I'd trade it on a cheap econobox on my own initiative.

Message: I gave the certified letter to company CEO that proves the discrimination and he told me right to my face that he knew nothing about the other guy the company let keep his job and that it was done behind his back threw lower management. He said no matter what he cannot bring me back now because it would set a president. He said we would have to let the arbitration take its course and an arbitrator tell them to put me back to work. He said I will get all that I have common to me if that’s the case. And then he apologized to me for the Discrimination. The Company knows the Arbitrations track Record and usually the arbitrator does not grant back Pay because there is not hard Proof the employee just gets his job back for sleeping, Fighting or Attendance and everyone is happy. This case is somewhat different then the last 4 that’s went.I did not ask for back pay in my initial grievents I just asked for my job back.Being they did not comply and put me back to work the 27 of Nov and I came up with this New Discrimination Evidance On Dec 5 I will now ask For Back Pay My company Grossed 4.7million last Quarter 16.000.00 is chump change to them. There are a lot of Liquor stores in Michigan. It would be well worth the fact that the next person it happens to will have to go threw the same deal as me and maybe they wont get there job back or back pay. To were if they let me come back now it would set a president and they do not won’t this. Then it would be an automatic give me for the next Person.

Message: Have you even looked for another job? I didn't read anywhere about that other than you saying your wife is willing to deal with it for the 6 months. I'm not even sure why you asked the question since you obviously had no thought in actually going through with it. Since half the people on here are so called "idiots" as you put it, you should know more than anyone that the fact that this company says they're going to do something about it means nothing. It's probably gonna take more time than expected and just cause more headaches. But hey what do I know I'm probably just one of those idiots.

Message: Do you recognize the misinformation ? Your claim is that the precedent has already been set, and that is the nature of the discrimination, but the company is denying that. And now you're counting on a lawyer to get you money in an arbitration; while acknowledging most of the arbitrations haven't resulted in any more than reinstatement WITHOUT the people being made whole for lost wages. Of course the lawyer is going to tell you they're going for back wages; but you have no redress if that isn't given to you by the arbitrator. Companies can do and say whatever they want until checked by some enforcement; even if you win they could still fire the next person and make them go through this process all over again despite what they said to you about precedent. As chief union steward I've seen this firsthand.
If I'm not getting through to you, you might notice how much response this thread has seen in a short amount of time; and how you are straining your relationship with your family.
