Subject: Remote Turbo Setup IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2003 3.9L Dakota QC. I am saving up for a HEMI but until then I would like to do a remote turbo setup. I have a couple questions though:
Can I still use my Flowmaster Super 40 muffer for a deep rumble?
What is the safest and max boost pressure I can use?
Will a T4 turbo flow enough for my Hemi in the future?
Thanks

Message: Those are too broad of questions.
And if you are not familiar with working on the turbo and don't want problems, I'd say go with a standard mount up front next to the engine.
The remote mount turbo has to have a oil pump to pump the oil all of the way back to the engine.
And while they show it working, it goes against the logic of how they work.
If you put some effort into the engine and turbo you may not even need to bother in fitting a HEMI and all of the electronics it would take to do that swap.
And you would take a stock Hemi down the 1/4 if you truck is light enough. Around here they only run 15's and 16's without mods.
With the bro in law's turbo charged 318 (in a RAM) that we never had tuned right, it was smoking the Hemi truck guys at the track. It was funny.
