Message: looks like a well thought out truck. i think their frame technology is a step back into the past. even though old toyota trucks had fully boxed frames. the exhaust system was well built lot more than what can be said for the dakotas. i think this will just make everyone else build a better more user friendly truck. just happy i have my dakota.
sits low for a truck.
does the dodge ram 1500 have the lowest tow rating now?

Its too bad you can't get a diesel option for the a 1/2 ton truck. But then again that’s not a true half ton truck. You see in order to get ahead of the computation Toyota and Nissan had to build a 3/4 ton and just badge it as a regular sized truck.

HA, better than my wifes car. It's a single pipe to the muffler then dual pipes out... ROLMFAO

Message: Well, I noticed that Nissan also did the dual pipes, dual cats, then half way back they go into one muffler like that. I guess it would be EASY to go duals as opposed to what I had to go through on my Dak.
I watched that demonstration in the weblink.
Aside from the utter blasphemy of American Ranchers riding in a Jap truck. The truck seems to be a good design from Toyota.
Even the review camera idea is very handy.
I had installed a small camera to the back of my toy hauler. My indash LCD display in my Dakota has VGA and two Composite Vidio inputs so I used one to watch the rear view from my toy hauler.
We sold out Toy Hauler and just bought a used motor home instead to do the Dune thing and all that. I was thinking of buying another cheap color camera and installing at my rear hitch. I've still got the extra inputs in my monitor.
Hopefully this means Dodge and Ford will step it up again. I'm not worried about the Nissan Titan. It's design, going from the wimpy rear end, to the starter being UNDER the intake manifold are just RETARDED ideas LOL!
Last I saw they were rated WORST on the truck reliablilty reports :P

Message: I'm very impressed with the new Tundra. Might be time to get rid of my 98 Dak 4X4 x cab. Will wait for a while and listen for first model year troubles etc before making the jump.

Message: Your right on Ben, Today there's really no such thing as a 1/2 ton. Might as well get rid of the tonnage class and just call it a 1500. Of course come to think of the new Dakota can tow about as much as a Ram 1500 10 years ago!

Message: you're right on Joe. I think that is true on the F-150 using a Ecoboost engine that was't really built to pull but yet Ford advertises that it can.
Just use a V8.

Message: Well in this case it was the fact that Ford took a engine out of a Taurus and installed two turbo and stated it was as reliable as any other engine they (Ford) offers or what the compotator offers.
This just shows you can't believe anything that is just too good to be true.
The 3.5 Ecoboost has become the ecofoost.
As far as I know there as been major problems with Mopar V8's.
