My wipers stick in the middle of the windshield on my 2001 Durango and won't go back down when I turn them off. When off they act like they want to go back down and move a little every couple of minutes but I have to get out and manually put them back down to the cowl. Guess the motor is shot. Where is the motor and how do you get to it for replacement. Is this something the stealership should do? I do have an extended warranty but would do it myself if not bad to get to.

Doesn't look too hard...hint of advice...pick up a Haynes Manual. Best $15 I've spent.

Well this was a used one so never got a notice. Good thing to know when I take it in. Maybe I can get a freebie.

you can go to dodge.com or call the dealer with the (i think) last 7 digits of your VIN and they can tell if the recall is for your vehicel and if it has been performed.

I'm thinking different here. The motor can't be burned out cause it works. I assume the speeds and delays are working cause these were not mentioned. My bet is your park position in your switch is broke or making poor contact. Did you try wiggling the switch or hitting with your hand close to the switch. If this makes them park or most likely makes them TRY to park, you found your answer.

I can't tell if delay or anything else works because when you turn them on it rises to the middle of the arch and stops. I guess you can call this working to a degree. It tried to go up further but doesn't move up any further whether I turn it on or off and back on. I can't manually put them back down until it trys to park ( it moves a fraction of an inch ) and then you can move them down to the cowl otherwise they are frozen and you can't move them. I'll try wiggling the switch and see if that helps. Other related or unrelated symptoms. Airbag light came on when I closed glove box one day. Cruise control stopped working but now I see it's working again.
