bah! Dune Blaster? I doubt that thing even gets off it's trailer. Too high for safe dune running so the name is a bit off. The painted dash is reminicient of a utilitarian 60's-70's truck that just had painted metal dashes and no fancy interiors. And the shag carpet headliner, or whatever it is, looks like the inside of the poochmobile on "Dumb and Dumber". The flames make it look like dripping mascara - would have looked better without it. The sound system will blast the windshield out not to mention the driver's ear drums. Not something I would buy or drive, but other than that it's a nice truck lol.

Exterior - BEAUTIFUL
Interior - Looks like something from Pimp My Ride...could do without that.

Overall - Little Jer is prolly pretty close...the only "action" that truck sees is prolly getting onto and off of the trailer.

Nice custom work, but, even with 4.56's, a 4.7 trying to turn 41's?

Yea those 41's gotta hurt. Maybe if they would take some work to the 4.7 it would help. Looks pretty friggin cool though. That shag sucks but i like what they did with the trim. But hey it's what they wanted i guess.

you guys think that he spent over 50 grand on a truck and didnt touch the motor? common. i wouldnt be surprised that thing dosent have less then 400 horses. i bet it would beat half of out trucks.

Even with 400 horses, all that extra weight negates it and probably still leaves him in the hole. Those big tires weigh a bit, and it takes power to turn them, not to mention torque. And face it, how many people build up a 4.7?

what kind of statment is that? "who builds 4.7s." thats retarted. im sure the guy who built it was like. eh it only has a 4.7 im not ganna mess with it. thats like saying "who puts a solid axle in a dakota?" or "who jacks a dakota up to the sky" or "who puts 50 gand into a midsized truck"

point being that if he dummped all that money, time, effort into the truck... im sure the motor is build to the hill. and at 400 hp and 456 gears... those tires will spin quit easly. my buddy has an 81 ramcharger with 38s and stock gears with a $hitty 318 and it gets up and goes easy enough. if he had gears alone it would romp through any hole. much less a built 4.7.

4.7's are pieces of crap! If they were so great why is everyone, from reading the message boards, wanting to replace their 318's and 4.7's with a 360 or 408? After all, a 4.7 is only like a 276 cid. May as well be a 273 slant 6! har har har - And if someone IS spending that much money why not just drop in a bigger engine that would work better with modding? Now that is retarded!

damn right 50 grand. i bet the pint alone was 10. tires and wheels.. 5. axles 5. suspesntion was atleast 3. the sound system with tvs and the enclosure was atleast 10. interior prolly 2-3. exhaust 1. prolly about a grand in powder coating. atleast a grand in misc. stuff. add it up and it comes to alot.

but i did read further and it dosent say much was done to the motor. but it still prolly has just under 300hp. and thats enough for that thing to go. i doubt it would climb many dunes but its prolly pretty decent. but still the fact stands he could have built the motor to get atleast 400 ponies and it would have ripped. and as for "its only a 276" ferrari motors are mostly 4.3 liters. so dont go and tell me size matters.

And have you seen the new Dakotas? Cheap inside and out so they probably cheaped out with the motor too Joshy! As far as Ferraris go, now they have engines! When you have such an expensive car they DON'T cheap out in the engine department as you can imagine! All I know is that, from reading different sites and boards, that the 4.7 seems to have a lot of problems. I've never had a problem with the 5.9 so far. It's all the other stuff on the truck that causes problems from tranny, ball joints, and rear end gears breaking, stuff that never happened with any of the Chevys I've owned. But as you say, the 4.7 is what's offered now so you gotta live with it. The statement that this was probably a trailer queen stands. Any serious off road truck builder would have stuck a different engine in there as long as he was dishing out money. A magnum 360 or 408 wouldn't have cost that much more. But I think he blew the budget with the headliner. Har Har Har!

I think the 4.7 may be fine for a on street truck with 15 to 20 inch wheels, but something with those big meats may need a boost. Remember it not only takes horsepower but also torque to turn those things going up a hill. Gearing definitely helps. With the proper gearing you can move a mountain. That's why older trucks with the smaller engines had granny gears, to make up for low engine power. Never driven a 4.7 before. When I bought my used Durango I made sure it had the 360 and bypassed all with the 4.7 because I knew the 360 had good power and 345 ft lbs of torque and a proven track record. I guess time will tell for the 4.7 on how good an engine it is. Clint is right about size, at least for past cars like the 5 liter Mustang and the 302 Camaro. A little cross ram and cam helped of course. Even the 5.6 Mustang moves.
