Message: It does look better than the Dakota. From the ones I have seen I like the wheels better, too. But it still isn't a Gen III.
Tell us what you got. V8? 4x4, etc.

Message: the gen 3 Dakota's are simply the best looking pick-up truck ever made. the new dak's are ugly as sin. and don't even get me started on the new durango's! but the raider is a sweet looking truck. never seen one in person yet though.

Message: Love the tail lights, not so sure about the front end. You musta got a sweet deal. I hear Mitsu can't even give those things away. Styling's too controversial for some but if you can live with the looks or if you like them, better bang for the buck than the DAK. Plus I believe you can get them with BFG AT/KO tires stock.

Message: It's the ext. cab 4WD Durocross model with the 4.7 V8. The Durocross stands for off-road capabilities, standard with the BF Goodrich 31's,
enhanced suspension, and graphics. However, if your looking for power, more torque and so on you won't find it in the Raider. Chrysler didn't let Mitsubishi put the Magnum or the Hemi under the hood as in the Dakotas. Chrysler still wants to brandish the fact of the most powerful midsize pickup.
Honestly, I picked it up because it looks better, and I got a much better deal, than the Dakota. The same dealer owned both franchises so either truck was a win for them.

Message: Swapper - You're a little off on some of that. Chrysler never put the hemi in a Dakota, and the 4.7 is considered a magnum motor. My 4.7 is badged magnum from the factory. I think you mean 5.2/5.9, but Chrysler isn't putting those in the Dakota anymore either.

Message: I dont think the 4.7 in the Raiders is a magnum 4.7 more like a toyota 4.7.It is still a halfbreed truck more foreign than american.I cant see Dodge putting all there secrets in a foreing truck just because it was made on the same line.

Message: Josh - What are you basing that belief on ? The Raider is a sister truck to the Dakota; I don't see any reason to think it's the Toyota motor. It should be the same as our 4.7 magnum.

Message: My 4.7 puts out 230HP. The H.O. Magnum puts out 250HP. The Dodge sales manager told me the "Hemi's" were coming under the hood on the 07's on special order. Maybe he's a liar like most sales managers. Now that makes me kinda glad I bought the Mitsubishi.

Message: The magnum 4.7 has 5 more horse withe 5 more pounds or torque over the Raider a simple search wdoes prove this. And the motore does look quite the same from the top except it dont say magnum on the throttle body hat.Raider 230 horspower 290 pounds of torque.Dakota 235 horse 295pounds of torque. It is still a nice truck I would drive it.

Message: I was just using the toyota for a example being it to is foreign Iam sure it is not a toyota motor.Dodge probably gave them some engine specs and left just a little out to give it the extra 5 in both areas.Sorry for spelling in last post.

Message: No, its the same magnum 4.7 motor. We've seen those same 5 hp differences in the Dakota 4.7's too; its just the difference between the federal emissions package and the California emissions package. No big secret conspiracy here...

Message: And throw in the number for when the engine is used in the Ram truck... They always list with 300 TQ, and often 240 HP. PCM programming? Why can't the Dakota/Durango get this same power out of the box?

Message: As most of you know chrysler and mitsu have been working together for a long time. Remember the ram 50? Its a mitsu mighty max in the blood. Slightly different outside but everything is the same in the driveline.
Same with the Raider, but opposite. Exactly the same driveline, slightly different styling on the outside.
They did the same thing with the dodge stratus R/T. Its got the 3.0 eclipse motor/tranny and what not. It even said mitsu on the motor.
They do this to cut costs for both companies in the long run.
Some people might disagree, or come up with some story that disagrees with mine, but... if you do your reasearch(josh), you would know what the f your talking about.
