Message: your gonna have fun with this one just like I did.
An air powered tool works best but here is what I did,
I used a ratcheting closed end wrench on the nut and used a crescent wrench to hold the tope of the shock stud. (its square) Lots of small movements due to the tight quarters but as soon as you get it loose it becomes easier.
Be careful when in stalling the two bolts on the bottom. I had to cut the ears on the bottom where you bolt the shock up to the lower control arm. The holes are not spaced far enough apart and makes the bolts screw in crooked.
Have fun!

Message: Yeti,
Use a nut cracker if you can find one for that upper nut on the shock.
It is a "c clamp" type tool. Has a chisel head that splits the nut when you tighten the clamp.
Split the nut twice & it falls right off.........I done it many times on shocks
or use an air chisel, torch..........air rachet & vice grips.........
