A lot of people ask me ...
What is the "Best" or your "Favorite" Performance Motor Oil???
WELL ... Best implies logic, but favorite implies emotions, which are illogical and opinionated.
What one has to ask is ...
By what criteria? Price, anecdotal or actual performance, additive package, drain intervals?
My response: I always recommend 100% Synthetic Motor Oils.
Of course I am particular to Amsoil. Amsoil has a 30+ year history, mountains of data to back up their claims, an excellent additive package, and offers extended drain intervals.
BELIEVE IT OR NOT ... Amsoil (25k mile oil) is currently priced below Mobil1 EP (15k mile oil), so Amsoil has an excellent price/performance ratio.

BOTTOM LINE:
Even though Super Tech is a Group III Hydrocracked Base Oil formulation ... I would choose it over most synthetic blends. Super Tech seems to hold up well in most applications.
Don't forget to use the best filtration ... Dirt is Enemy # 1.
Others will post after me, since this is a hot topic (probably third only to politics and religion).

It's not that blends are bad, it's just that they're not as good as Group IV true synthetics. Plus blends are way cheaper to produce than group IV synthetic oils, so why aren't they much cheaper on the shelf?

544,000 miles using Amsoil Series 2000 0W-30 oil with the by-pass filter system. Oil changes are from 40,000 to past 100,000 miles, depending on oil analysis results.
Original engine, cept for a valve job and camshaft.
You should be happy using the 25,000 mile (or one year) rated Ea oil filter and compatible series 2000 oil.
