2500 on the oil just changed it yesterday and noticed the smell. Truck runs fine has 108K on it. Thats whats baffeling me. Seems a bit bogged down though when i get on it from a stop but after 2500rpms it really begins to move. Not sure if they are related.

Rings could be getting a bit old and you have more blow-by than normal and some fuel is gerring into your block. A way you can see if you have major blow-by is to pull the hose to the air cleaner off put one thumb over it .. then pull the hose to the pcv valve off and block that one with your other thumb.. see if a lot of pressure builds up... on a new engine its very little to none .. on a really worn engine the pressure will try and push your thumb off ....

Two big reasons for excessive fuel in the crank case. Worn rings, and a bad injector. If your gas mileage has dropped a bit, it's probably a bad injector. You can try and run something like Chevron or B-12 cleaner through it. There's also some direct cleaning products that work better, but are a lot more expensive and more involved. You could also remove them and have them cleaned.

For worn rings, there's not much you can do short of an overhaul. I'v tried a product called Restore over the years with mixed success. I would try that first, although I wouldn't expect miracles.
