Alright, i have a 2001 dodge dakota SLT Club Cab 4x2 w/ a 3.9L V6...

Here's the problem: The climate control/fan assembly isn't working

The Facts:
- all relays are good
- all fuses are good
- replaced the climate control switch, no difference
- pulled the fan, and hooked it up to a 12v 3A power supply and it worked
- i get 11v at the fan connector when truck is off, and 14v when the truck is on
- the a/c compressor kicks on and off when you push the button
- it appears that the zone selector (feet/panel vents) switch works, and a minimal amout of air comes out while on the freeway.

what is going on with this thing?!

has this happened to anyone else?

I had the resister go on mine and it would only work on high. It was around $15 for the part and it is behind the glove box. Yours is a little different, but it is cheap and easy to try.

If the fan only works on high speed setting, it's the resistor.
If it doesn't work at all, investigate the ignition switch. Strange as it seems, Dodge routed that high amperage circuit through the ignition switch, instead of using a relay.

yeah, that reley behind the glove box did it... at first it only worked on high, but then i cleaned the contacts on the switch and it wouldn't work at all.

the part was under $20 bucks at the dealership. I can finally defrost my windows in the morning! Thanks for all the input guys.
