Subject: 5.2 Running Rough.... IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys....
One problem
1996 Dodge Dakota SLT V8 5.2 Automatic here.
Mileage: 69,000 Miles
Truck all of a sudden doesn't want to stay running when I start it. It just starts and cut's off. If I press the gas a couple of times most of the time it will idle normally. This morning I went to start it and it was really really rough. It is below freezing though, but it never has done this before even at this temp. Anyway what could be causing this? also when i'm driving down the road my gauges (tach and speedo) twitch sometimes erratically then go back to normal. This all started happening at the same time. Any suggestions? Bad computer? Weak battery lately too. About going dead. Thanks.

Message: Forgot to say that alternator tested good as well as starter when they tested it at Advance Auto. 120A Alternator....put out 160A peak on their machine.

Message: Weak battery could be behind the rough idle - idle memory can be lost when PCM sees low voltage. Don't know if that could relate to what you are seing with your gauges or not.
