Subject: steering knuckle IP: Logged
Message: what would be the correct size heli-coil to fix the brake caliper mounting location. seems the bottom bolt has rusty and stripped wont hold the caliper, so now when brakes applied caliper rubs on inside of rim. i was told the heli-coil is the best/ most affordable way to fix it. besides getting a whole new knuckle. thanks

Message: yeah, i want to know this too. the previous owner of my 98 slt pulled the threads out of all but one knuckle. bad, i know, i make sure the caliper pins are in far enough by hammering them into the knuckle every now and then. need to fix soon, not good for my brake pads...or stopping distance for that matter.
