Message: I am having no fault codes with an older vehicle. My idle is all out of whack and isn't really drivable. I check the computer with a voltmeter and found places where the registered volts weren't according to specfications. I have been told that that means the PCM or computer is having issues, or leaking volts inside its mainframe. Told to replace the PCM and problem solved. I tend to agree with him, a professional mechanic, but want to bounce these thought off on this board.
Specfications:
60 pin connector relay to computer- at #13 pin ia reference signal at 5 volts. The registered signal on my volt meter was 8.91 Volts DC. Something is wrong here. I have never had this occur before. Usually its just a faulty part and I replace it, so wanted to run this by here and see what I come up with. Hopefully I get your better opinions, not always the case. Either way give me the whats-up.

Message: Its a 1989 V6. On the chart its the 5 Volt Supply. I think thats the amount of volts the computer sends out to its sensors and stuff. Not sure. Let me know what you think.
