I hit a major milestone with my Dakota today, and I'd thought you might be interested in my report card so to speak.

2002 Dodge Dakota SLT club cab.
4x2, 4.7 V8, FIPK K&N Intake with Gibson Exhaust since the first few months. I bought this truck brand new.

Major Problems -

Ball Joint replacement, uppers and lowers at 14,000 miles, 18,000 miles, 27,000 miles, and finally under recall at 56,000 miles.

Vacuum pressure hose leak at 62,000 miles.

Downstream passenger side O2 sensor replacement at 94,000 miles.

Fuel Line relocation at 56,000 miles, work done under recall.

Minor Problems -

Driver side window rattle fixed at 27,000 miles, 56,000 miles, and diagnosed as a loose motor mount requiring replacement at 94,000 miles work never performed.

Rear sway bar bushing replacement at 84,000 miles, two return trips to dealer because they never screwed up and didn't tighten the bolts enough.

Routine Maintance -

Tires at 42,000 (Cooper HT, not bad but didn't handle the snow well) , and 95,000 (General Grabber AT, do very well in the rain, no snow experience yet, feels squirrly at 40 mph on even pavement.)

Engine oil changes every 3000 miles without failure, partial synthetic blends, used Mobil 1 a few times.

Still using the factory battery, due for replacement prior to the snow falling this seaon.

All in all, I have never been happier with a truck or vehicle in general. Despite the ball joint problems, it has been one of the most reliable vehicles I have ever owned and has never left me stranded.

I thought this might be useful to somebody since this board saved my butt a few times in bringing a few of these issue to light at the dealership and saved me quite a few dollars while I was at it.
